These candies are far too personal, and not something I think we're meant to experience. It's a dirty trick to play on us. [He looks a little irritated, especially since he doesn't know who to blame for it. But then his expression softens to guilt.] I wish I hadn't.... I should have checked the network first.

So you can still do far more with it than we can with electricity alone. Although, it can be used to power hospitals to help with healing.

These devices, for example. While we have video phones, they're much larger. And I have a device for communicating through emails, but it's bulky, compared to this. They're also both separate, rather than in one device.

That's thanks to the fuel it runs on--aer or mana. Healing artes in our world can be used to accelerate healing directly on the person and seal wounds--stuff like that.

[She certainly wouldn't imagine anything like the digital world!]

Oh, I think I know what you're talking about. That kind of thing's called a computer, right? I read up a little about a few things like that.

Yes. Accept this device in the City runs like one. It's not much different, only it's larger and probably has more hard drive space. So, technically, we're using a type of computer now. At least, I'm fairly certain we are.

In my world, it exists in everything. It just needs a machine--a blastia--to be utilized in different ways. [She's generally pretty pleased when someone's interested in aer or mana. Because blastia is clearly the best technology ever!

Now that is something she'd find incredibly fascinating, too.]

I'm pretty certain you can classify it as a type of computer. Anyway, being smaller and having everything integrated into its functions is pretty convenient.

Perhaps something like our molecules and atoms? They are in, and make up, everything.

Not exactly--our matter is composed of atoms and molecules, too. But you can think of aer and mana as an additional component that's needed for life in our world.

There's plenty of fascinating stuff out there, especially in a world you don't know.

Yes, but there are worlds similar to mine, from the sound of it, so they don't interest me as much on that level. One that different.... I'd really like to see it.

It'd be nice. But I doubt it'll happen.

If we're able to be brought here to begin with, there might be more possibilities with other worlds we've never thought of.

It's a possibility. But I think it's the kind of thing that's more likely to happen only when the City wants it to.

I traveled to other worlds. I had to use a device for that, but I've still been to two other worlds, aside from the City and my home world.

Unfortunately, since coming here, my device won't work. It doesn't seem to be broken, and it's still functioning, but I can't leave here into the other worlds like I had been able to do.

A device to travel to other worlds...I've never heard of anything like that--I mean, except for this place...

[The wonder and fascination are obvious in her voice and expression. She'd love to know more.]

[Ken puts the black D3 in view of the screen.]

This is it. Unless you want to see it in person? [He's a little uncertain about that, though. It's very important to him, being that it connects him to Wormmon and allows Wormmon to digivolve. He doesn't want anything to happen to it.]

I want to see it up-close. How can something like this let you travel between worlds? That would be incredible...

[She doesn't know how personally important it is to him, of course, but she doesn't plan on being reckless with it. Yet.]

Well.... We could meet and you could. But you have to promise not to take it apart. I have no idea if it will work the same if anyone did that.

I'm not entirely certain how the technology works, myself. But it used to open up gateways through computers to take me to the Digital World. And...another place, once.

[He doesn't want to talk about the other place much.]

If I couldn't put it back together...All right, I won't take it it apart--I promise. [She holds up her pinky finger, though they can't really shake right now.

And then she stares at him in confusion for a few moments.] The...Did you say you went through a computer?

Thank you. [They don't have to shake, a promise is good enough.]

[Nods his head.] Yes. That's how we traveled to the Digital World. I don't know HOW the device does it, though, but I would assume it transferred us into data, which is how we were able to travel like that.

That doesn't explain the other world, though. Unless it's just data, as well.

Wait a second...Turned you into...So are you saying you went into, like--the computer network or something? [She's heavily interested now, imagining just how it worked--she can't wait to see the device, even if she can't take it apart.]

I'm not entirely sure, but yes, something like that. [Gennai explains it better later. So that's the best Ken can do for now.]

There was a whole world there made up data. And...creatures we call Digimon. Some of us had companions given to us. I was one of them. These digital devices connect us to them.
