[Someone is very upset. Someone also realizes there's a certain protocol to follow when these things happen, always some person informing the City of a departure. Someone doesn't want to.
And her T-shirt - I was cursed into the body of a 90 year old woman, and all I got was this lousy T-shirt - which she is doing her best trying to hide, is not helping with her mood at all. Quietly:]
I know he had friends here, so I should probably tell you. As of yesterday, Howl Jenkins, Pendragon, and whatever other silly silly name is...
[She fiddles with the hem of her shirt.] Gone. [Just a painting on a wall somewhere. And who knows - everyone talks of departure in such different ways - who knows if she'll see him again.
Fiddle. Fiddle, fiddle.] This - [Suddenly angry, she stretches her shirt out and glares at the camera.] - is incomplete. I got many, many other things from the experience! But of course, it's not about that, is it? It's about pouring salt over an opened wound.
Oooh, if only - I would give some Deities such a spanking.
[She clamps her mouth shut. Now's not the time to stick out her neck again, even if she really wants to. Before she says anything else, she turns the device off.]

For the record, the second one was probably the best way to deal.

I should take your wise advice to heart, then.

Sophie? You know... this probably sounds dumb, but when bad things happen to me, I just tell myself that that's part of living. Everything happens, and the bad parts help us appreciate the good parts even more.

As much as I would like to see you discipline the deities, I think being angry with them accomplishes very little.
action;
No, it's not helping me, either.
action;
No, it's not. [Sorry, but Sophie won't be getting any platitudes from this corner.] Tea?
action;
Tea would be lovely, yes.
[After a second thought, she focuses on his sleeves.] I could lift those for you, you know?
action;
Chekov pauses; clearly it hasn't occurred to him to do something as simple as that, much to his embarrassment.] No, no... this is fine. How do you take your tea? Strong, weak? And there is sugar, honey, jam...
[He takes a moment to roll his sleeves up.]
action;
Jam? In tea?
action;
[What. What did... what.] Yes, jam in tea. Is that so unusual?
action;
[Sounds odd enough to distract her from the brooding thoughts at the front of her mind, though. Good for jam.] Why are you wearing it? Do you have one of these?

About Mr. Howl leaving. And, the um, incomplete T-shirt.

But it's worse when a friend leaves, I'm sure.

Salt to the wound. I've never had salt rubbed against any wound, but I imagine it compares, slightly, to this.
no subject
...Why would anyone rub salt on wounds? I've never understood that. Isn't alcohol bad enough?
